Backstage With Bush Exclusive
President George W. Bush allowed TIME photographer Christopher Morris exclusive access as he stormed through a series of campaign stops in swing states like Michigan, Iowa and Ohio in recent days. While some events were traditional rallies, others, titled "Ask President Bush," had him taking questions from the audience. Along the way, he was joined by two of the G.O.P.'s most popular moderates, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Arizona Senator John McCain. Also present, though far less visibly, were two of Bush's closest advisers, Karen Hughes and Karl Rove, who, having steered the President to victory four years ago, are on the trail full time.
