MISSING. WILLIAM COLBY, 76, former CIA director. Daring World War II intelligence operative, controversial overseer of Vietnam-era covert activities, Colby was an ironic choice to restore the CIA's reputation in the post-Watergate era. DIED. SITI HARTINAH SUHARTO, 72, wife of Indonesian leader Suharto; of a heart attack; in Jakarta. "Madame Tien" was Suharto's closest adviser--unofficially dubbed "Tien Percent" for the cut she was rumored to receive from government contracts.

DIED. HERBERT BROWNELL, 92, Attorney General under Eisenhower who played a key role in implementing the Supreme Court's desegregation decisions; in Manhattan.
