Fair Shake
Is Adlai Stevenson getting a fair shake from what the Democrats like to call the "one-party press"? Editor & Publisher put the question last week to the Democratic candidate himself. Said Stevenson: "Newspaper coverage of my 1956 campaign has been generally good. In fact, I think it has been better than in 1952. Almost all the newspapermen traveling with me have consistently turned in excellent reports, reports that are as complete and well-written as the rigors of campaigning permit, reports which I think fairly represent what I have said and done . . . [But] there are still far too many big and little newspapers in America with editorial myopia in the handling of political news."
