The inaudible racket killed mice in one minute. The insidious little waves also killed cockroaches and mosquitoes.

The Signal Corps did not describe the gadget used to generate the waves. Neither did it tell the military objective of the experiments. The Germans tried with no success to use sound as a military weapon in World War II, but their devices were comparatively crude. The Signal Corps may see some possibility of killing not only mice, but men.
