Sociologist Adelaide Cromwell Hill, 26, who got her B.A. at Smith cum laude in 1940, proceeded to an M.A. at University of Pennsylvania, and is now working on a Ph.D. at Harvard, will join a faculty which already includes two Chinese and a Japanese.
