Snake-Eating Partridge
The eyes of Peter Giachino, a gunner of Raymboultown, Mich., popped one day last week when he took out the innards of a partridge he had shot. Coiled in the bird's gullet, still showing signs of life but with its head firmly imbedded in the bird's gizzard, was a 15-in. grass snake. Gunner Giachino put the innards with snake attached, on show in a jar of alcohol in the window of the Reilly Picture Shop at Laurium. P: Omen of a cold winter: partridges' legs are heavily feathered this year.
