Child Guidance Clinics
Dignified, erudite Grace Abbott, 51, no mother, chief of the U. S. Children's Bureau, last week was particularly pleased to note that there were then 500 child guidance clinics in 350 different U. S. communities. The first of such clinics started just 20 years ago in Chicago when Miss Abbott was a resident of Jane Addams' Hull House.*
*Miss Abbott's elder sister, by two years, is Dean Edith Abbott of the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Social Service Administration.
