All right-loving Britons were deeply scandalized last week when the following statistics became known through the diligence of a correspondent of the Daily Mail at Capetown, South Africa:
Savings accruing to the Government of South Africa during 1926 as a result of not having to feed and care for 15,000 prisoners who were released from jail in honor of the visit of Edward of Wales in 1925. . . .-L-41,000 ($199,260)
