Stroking Steadily. Six thousand spectators strolled down to the shady shores of Lake Carnegie last week at Princeton after the Harvard ball game to watch the crew race. Pennsylvania, Columbia and Princeton had their eights lined up near the dam. In the shimmering twilight they pushed out from the referee's launch, the three crews rhythmically beating their way through the quiet waters. Pennsylvania took the lead. At the half mile it became evident to the colorful gallery that the conqueror of Harvard the preceding week would win as she pleased. The red and blue pressed on inexorably under steady stroking to win, by three and a half lengths from Princeton, by seven lengths from Columbia, the Child's Cup for the third successive year.
