U. S. on Bull Fight
Acting Governor Butte of Porto Rico last week denied an application by one Manuel Garcia. Senor Garcia wished to arena a bull fight. The acting governor held: 1) That a fight between man and beast was likely to be cruel; 2) That it was likely to have a deleterious effect on public morals. The bulls of Porto Rico will continue to be slaughtered only to increase the world's food supply.
