Crown Prince Umberto arrived in Rome from a three-months' visit to South America. It was said that the young Prince would travel a good deal in the future.

A rumor persisted in Rome, despite official denials, that Princess Giovanna (third daughter of the King of Italy) and the Crown Prince of Belgium are shortly to be engaged to be married; also Crown Prince Umberto of Italy and Princess Marie-Jose of Belgium.
