Figures made public by the chief physician of the Paris Police Dispensary indicate that the number of cases of syphilis among both registered and clandestinely immoral women has steadily diminished since 1917. Out of 10,125 women examined in 1917 there were 683 cases. Out of 6,908 women examined in 1924 there were 247 cases. Bizard, the physician, suggests that each woman be provided with a record book containing her medical history, which the physician will sign after each inspection.
