The Legislative Week

The Senate:

P:Passed a pension bill increasing pensions of widows of Civil War veterans, excepting those who married after June 27, 1907. P:Confirmed the nomination of Alfred J. Pearson to be Minister to Poland (TIME, April 7). P: Passed a resolution permitting the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs to erect in Washington a monument to baseball.

P:Passed a bill authorizing the President to invite foreign governments to participate in the Third World's Poultry Congress to be held in the U. S. in 1927.

P:Passed a bill originating in the House, appropriating $7,000,000 for the construction of roads and trails in National Parks.

P:Considered the Johnson-Colt immigration bill at length.

The House:

P:Passed a bill authorizing the Shipping Board to spend $25,000,000 installing Diesel (internal combustion) engines in its vessels.

P:Considered at length the supply till for the independent agencies of the Government (i. e., Bureaus, Commissions, etc., outside of regular Cabinet Departments), and passed it carrying total appropriations of $399,000,000--$349,000,000' of which was for the Veterans' Bureau.
