Happy New Year
Premier Poincare sent the following New Year's greeting through the New York Tribune to the American people:
"During the year just finished we have been obliged to undertake and are still pursuing in spite of unceasing difficulties, a serious effort toward the maintenance of our rights. . . .
"I am delighted to find that notable Americans are on their way to cooperate in the study of the vast and difficult problems which confront us, . . . and I am sure, . . . they will find us open to every reasonable suggestion.
"May the year which should reestablish peaceful activity on this Continent be equally favorable to the prosperity and happiness of your country."
