A French Record

French fliers have tried hard to recapture some of these records, and large prizes have been set up to this end, but without avail. Sadi Lecointe's altitude record is the sole exception. Verification of the barograph used on his last altitude flight definitely established the fact that he made a height of 35,178 feet as compared with Macready's 34,509. The U. S. can well afford to spare one record out of 34.
