A Sheik Arose

TRANSJORDANIA*

The Emir Abdullah, second son of King Hussein of the Hedjaz and elder brother of King Feisal of Iraq, faced a serious rebellion led by the Sheik of Es Salt.

Three thousand Arabs gathered under the unfurled banner of the Sheik and demanded parliamentary government, expulsion of foreigners, equality of taxation.
