Tendler vs. Leonard

P: Lew Tendler, Philadelphia light-weight boxer, challenged Benny Leonard, champion lightweight, and was hopelessly beaten in 15 rounds at the Yankee Stadium, New York.

P: Leonard received $140,000; Tendler $60,000.

P: Noteworthy was the arrival at the Stadium of Harry Wills, logical candidate for a chance at Dempsey. Wills was cheered " every step of the way from the entrance in centre field to his seat near the ring."
