The Greatest Golf
Revealing in the final 18 holes what was probably the greatest golf ever played by a woman, Alexa Stirling took the Metropolitan Championship (New York) from Mrs. G. M. Heckscher, 11 and 9. Miss Stirling went out in 36, even par, and sank her final putt coming home for a 40. The 76 broke Glenna Collett's record for the difficult Westchester-Biltmore course by two strokes. Her brilliance indicates that she is ready to assume again the American championship, which she laid at the feet of Miss Hollins three years ago.
