Ill Wind

A violent gale brought disaster to several of 20 spherical balloons entered in Paris for the Grand Prix of the Aero Club of France. Some were smashed against the walls of the Tuilleries Palace; others torn from their moorings with pilots on board are headed for Germany. It is feared that unauthorized landings will mean fines and imprisonments for the occupants.
